CLOSING
STATEMENT
For many first-year students, the transition from high
school to university can be a very intimidating or a
very exciting time in one’s life. Not only are
you left to fend for yourself, you have to adjust to
the university environment such as residence life as
well as on-campus food services. These adjustments not
only play a role in creating stress and confusion, they
may in fact be influencing your academic abilities.
Even though there are other aspects that have an influence
on your academia, it is up to you, the student to learn
to adapt to these new changes.
Through these next few years, your academics will play
an important role in your future. Just remember not
to disregard other aspects of your life by creating
an imbalance between your academics and other aspects
of life. These next few years will be a challenge for
many, but with a good sense of mind and a strong social
network, you will do fine and succeed in adjusting to
this transition.
